The purpose of the Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP) is to ensure that the Greenfield Union School District (GFUSD) provides a safe environment for employees and members of the public to engage in education-related activities, free from threats, intimidation, harassment, retaliation, and acts of violence.
The Superintendent is responsible for authorizing, establishing, implementing, and maintaining the WVPP, including all associated documentation and forms outlined in this written plan. GFUSD is firmly committed to safeguarding the well-being of its employees and preventing workplace violence. The District believes that a clearly defined set of policies and procedures is essential to achieving a safe work environment.
Workplace safety is a shared responsibility. All GFUSD employees are expected to comply with the WVPP and to actively participate in its development and implementation. The District does not tolerate any form of violence or threat of violence and will take proactive steps to prevent such incidents.
Timely and accurate reporting of any violent incident—regardless of whether a physical injury occurs—is critical to the effectiveness of the WVPP. GFUSD strictly prohibits retaliation or discrimination against any employee who reports an incident or who is a victim of workplace violence.
A written copy of the WVPP is available at the District Office, each school site, and any other location where District employees work. Employees are expected to follow safe work practices, adhere to all applicable policies and procedures, and contribute to maintaining a secure and respectful workplace.
