On behalf of the Greenfield Union School District, I would like to welcome you to our district. Our devoted community, employees and 9,400 Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade students take great pride in our schools and unmatched programs.  We are a dynamic community in south Bakersfield, totally dedicated to children and focused on the whole child.  Our Board of Trustees has set the tone for developing the excellent reputation Greenfield Union School District currently enjoys.   Our excellent and comprehensive elementary school programs, after school programs, working relationship with our local universities, innovative and effective business practices, and partnerships with our business community serve as our foundation for educating each child.

Operating 12 schools (8 elementary, 3 middle schools and 1 community school), Greenfield Union School District is experiencing growth of approximately 1%-2% per year.  It is anticipated that an estimated 5,000 homes will be constructed within the next 7 years increasing our enrollment to an estimated 11,000 students.  The district is poised to construct three new elementary schools and a fourth middle school to accommodate the students.

The cultural diversity within our district demands a highly qualified work force including teachers, administrators, classified staff, and other support staff.  We take great pride in providing our children the most qualified teachers and support staff possible.  

Our commitment to meeting the expectations of today's society is evident as outlined within our Greenfield Union School District Mission and corresponding Value Statements.  Our desire to educate the "whole child" has resulted in the development of several supplemental programs:

• Our Migrant/ELD Program has earned recognition for its support of our Migrant population
• We continue to operate a Pre-School Ready to Start Program for 4-year-olds;
• Our outstanding Nationally recognized After School Success Program (ASSP) is designated by the State of California as a Regional Learning Center because of its very successful impact upon our regular day program;
• Given our commitment to student success, safety and attendance, we have partnerships with our local law enforcement agencies allowing the district to have a School Resource Officer (SRO).
