When foggy days occur leading to transportation delays, Greenfield Union School District will operate in accordance with the plans and procedures proposed by the Kern County Superintendent of Schools. Parents should listen for announcements via the local media that refer to Greenfield Union School District, not individual schools. When transportation delays are called, school buses will run two (2) hours later than the regular time. Schools will be open at their regular time to receive students who walk or who are transported by their parents. Local radio and television stations will announce all school transportation delays. http://alertline.kern.org/ will post information regarding school delays.
When a transportation delay has been called and conditions remain severe throughout the day, all bus transportation will be cancelled. Students who walked to school or were transported by parents will be dismissed at their regular time. Please DO NOT CALL radio or TV stations, the California Highway Patrol or the school office during morning hours for information regarding delays. Information WILL be broadcast on local radio and TV stations. You are encouraged to not send or bring your child to school if you consider conditions unsafe.
