The Mental (Behavioral) Health Department within our school district is dedicated to ensuring the well-being of all students by providing comprehensive support services addressing their emotional, social, and mental health needs. Each school site has a dedicated school social worker who offers individualized and group support, crisis intervention, and connections to community resources. They assist students in navigating challenges such as stress, anxiety, grief, trauma, and social-emotional development. Additionally, our social workers collaborate with families, teachers, and staff to create a supportive school environment which fosters student success. At the middle school level, where students may experience increased academic and social pressures, we have two social workers per site to provide added support. Services include counseling, social-emotional skill-building, conflict resolution, behavioral interventions, family engagement, and referrals to external mental health providers when needed. Through this multi-layered approach, our team is committed to ensuring every student has the tools and support necessary to thrive both in school and beyond.
