California Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond and California Department of Education staff celebrated great schools at the 2026 California School Recognition Program Awards Ceremony this week at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim.

Superintendent Thurmond joined approximately 1,500 educators and school professionals from across California for the awards ceremony and is recognized the 408 California schools selected for the 2026 California Distinguished Schools Program including Ollivier Middle School.

In attendance to receive the award were Greenfield Superintendent Ramon Hendrix, Ollivier Principal Sheila Johnson and Assistant Principal Jessica Gonzalez along with a stellar cast of staff members and the board of trustees.
