Greenfield Union School District is proud to announce the recognitions of two of our music educators by the Kern County Music Educators Association.

Mr. Sal Rios, of Kendrick Elementary School, was awarded the Elementary Music Specialist of the Year and our Visual and Preforming Arts Liaison, Ms. Nancy Posada earned General Music Educator of the Year.

Both earned these top honors by being nominated by their peers and voted on by leading music authorities in Kern County.

This is the second time Mr. Rios has earned an award from KCMEA. In 2023, he was awarded the General Music Educator Award and since then has continued to bring his training from the Kodaly Institute of Cal State Bakersfield into elementary classrooms making a musical impact on our young learners.

As the VAPA Liaison for Greenfield USD, Ms. Posada holds a special role in the advancement of music education at out school sites. Ms. Posada shares her knowledge with our talented team of music teachers across the district through the joyful expression of voice, instruments, and VAPA exhibitions.
