The 9th annual, Breakfast of Champions Cooking Competition was held at Ollivier Middle School Thursday night, where eight of our students, representing each grade level, salted, stirred, and sautéed their favorite breakfast recipes in an effort to win over the judges.
In the end, Jake Goessman, 8th grader of McKee Middle School, took home the top prize with his recipe for Breakfast Fried Rice. A savory mix of onions, sausage, potatoes, and eggs.
This recipe will be served as a breakfast item at all cafeterias in the Greenfield Union School District. Josh Rogers, Director of Nutrition Services, says cooking is a life skill that these children will take with them into the future and encourages all students to take an interest in creating meals with fresh ingredients for full flavor.
This competition was open to all 9,157 students and the following are our top eight finalists.
