Home is where the heart is and for Superintendent Ramon Hendrix that place is the Greenfield Union School District. Mr. Hendrix started his education as a kindergarten student at Plantation Elementary, and finished middle school at Greenfield Junior High,  and while the names have changed to Prosperity and Greenfield Middle, one thing remains the same, excellent teachers and brilliant students. He graduated class of 1981 from South High School and was an outstanding athlete-wrestling all four years before starting his college education and embarking on a fruitful career in education. Mr. Hendrix knows first hand about the trials and triumphs of growing up in our community and now strives to give back to the neighborhoods that watched him grow up.

Mr. Hendrix earned his Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Cal State Bakersfield and his Administrative Credential from Fresno Pacific University. His teaching career began in 1989 as a science teacher at South High and was soon promoted to Assistant Principal. In 1995 he began a 22-year journey with Stockdale High school where he served as Assistant Principal for nine years and 13 more as their Principal. During his tenure with the Kern High School District, he never forgot Greenfield. Mr. Hendrix served as a GFUSD Board of Trustees Member from 2000-2004 and Board of Trustees President from 2004-2008. In 2017, opportunity came knocking and he answered the call to come back home to Greenfield as our Superintendent and has been leading the way since.

His career as our Superintendent has been nothing short of extraordinary having steered the district through the highs and lows of a global pandemic, launched major remodeling projects of school sites across the district, initiated a dual-language immersion program, expanded our preschool program, and opened a brand new elementary school. Mr. Hendrix and his team of Assistant Superintendents operate the Greenfield Union School District under the motto Dedicated to Children and with this theme at the forefront of our district, our staff, our students, and our future will always see success.
